Unit 9

Health and Wellness educators should "practice what they preach".  If they are not applying what they know to their daily lives they will acting hypocritically and their clients will have a hard time taking them seriously.  You have to lead by example.  A person can't advice someone if they do not know what it is like to live in their shoes.    When I examine myself I see the desires of my heart.  I see that I want better and I will always strive for better regardless of what life throws my way.  My spiritual goal is to connect closer with God.  Read my bible daily and pray throughout the day.  My psychological state needs some work.  I need to train my brain to retain what is important verses remembering random things that do not do any good but take up space in my brain.  My physical health is improving.  I will start working on a daily schedule of exercises.  I am already making healthier eating choices.  Examining myself and ways to make it me a better me, has helped me realize that I like who I am and that loving myself is one of the most important things I can do in life.  People should learn how to appreciate their own company.  I am thankful for this course because it has allowed me to refocus on what is important in life.  My health and wellness practices were slipping and needed work.  If I don't take care of myself nobody else will.  It is not always easy to do when you are a military spouse with four children and going to college but hey, I can do this!

  1. I totally agree with you. Loving yourself is the best thing that you can do for yourself. In my opinion, loving yourself will allow for you to build a better capacity to love others as well. This is going to go a long way towards beginning the path to integral health.
